Innovation Rooted in Tradition
Armazém dos Linhos is a historic brand that, since 1905, has been dedicated to the preservation, production, and trade of fabrics – with the iconic Chitas de Alcobaça at the heart of our mission.
From the revival and reproduction of traditional patterns to the innovation and development of new processes and finishes; from personalised service and made-to-measure solutions to the design of original products and new applications, quality and national production are at the core of everything we do.
As heirs to a rich and diverse cultural heritage, we strive to work within a local and circular logic, producing small and exclusive editions while reintegrating surplus materials into the development of innovative applications.
Team
A Family-Driven Team
In 2011, the project was embraced by sisters Filipa and Leonor, two architects and long-time customers of the former Armazém dos Linhos. They share a passion for Chitas and the mission to preserve these traditionally Portuguese patterns, bringing them back to the public with the same historical value but new possibilities. Over a decade later, they have expanded the business and its research, taken Chitas to five continents, and created new ways to integrate these bold and vibrant patterns into our daily lives.
